Bakerman's SXSW hours

I had a work related errand to run downtown this afternoon. Travelling down Red River, I noticied the Hot Dog King stand already operating to serve the SXSW crowds. I was tempted to stop (never had one before) but the parking situation was ridiculous.
After I picked up the papers I needed, I decided to swing by Bakerman's on 7th street. Several posters have recommended this place and I was excited to find them open. Upon stepping inside, I was welcomed by a very friendly young man behind the counter.
In the cases were cupcakes (looked like red velvet), large snickerdoodle, oatmeal rasin, and chocolate chip cookies, choc. dipped shortbread cookies, cheesecake bars, croissants, tres leches, small chocolates, and a few other things that I can't seem to remember right now. On top of the counter were some plastick wrapped iced heart shaped cookies.
I asked if the cookies were shortbread or sugar and was told they were sugar cookies. ( I really love iced sugar cookies and can't find them very many places let alone a good one. Most places that have iced cookies use shortbread.) Upon examination, I was suspect about this but ignored my gut and listened to the man. I got in my car, took one bite and my suspicions were confirmed--short bread. Not only was this a shortbread cookie, but the icing was of the hardened Royal icing variety. It crackled in my mouth when I bit the cookie. Ugh. Not at all what I wanted and, while the cookie was okay for shortbread, the icing was truly horrid. Downright crunchy.
I will go back to try something else and hope that I merely made a bad selection. The clerk said they are opne to 1am every day this week for SWSX. If anyone gets by there (or knows of a great iced sugar cookie), please report back.
