Foie Gras

Hello everyone,

I would like to know which restaurant has the BEST FOIE GRAS in GTA, in your opinion.

If you can also let me know how they prepared it (i.e. fresh, mousse, pâté, poêlé, etc.) and what it came with (if any), that would be lovely.

Just in the mood for some French delicacies....

Thanks in advance.

  1. David Lee at Splendido always has a few items on the menu with great foie gras.
Take a look at the menu online and it should give you an idea. Might be pricey!

Also take a look at Le Select i know they have a foie gras terrine...
Let me know if you are looking for some as i have just returned from France!

Thanks Franco, I don't know why but I never tried it at Splendido but certainly my next visit will be all for that. Never been to Le Select yet but sometimes I hear mixed reviews about the resto. Will check it out eventually. Thanks once again.

    2. I had a very good one at Il Mulino on Eglinton last month. They do it seared on a puff pastry cup with grappa-poached juniper berries and pear. Very good balance of acid and fat.

I've never been to Il Mulino and just looked at some pictures and it seems like the food/atmosphere would be great. That description of the foie gras sounds sooo delish! Thanks for the rec, grilledcheese.

Don't go on the weekend. It gets way too busy and noisy. I mean REALLY noisy, like you can't hear the other person across the table. Otherwise, it's good.
