Gefilte Fish Prices

i was in the store yesterday, and i noticed that the price for regular, non pesach gefilte fish was 6.99 a loaf. WHOA!!!! i used to live in Cleveland and that was regular price, but here in ny it is supposed to be around $4.59-$4.99

what the heck happened to the prices?

A couple of months ago, I was wondering about this myself. I asked and it seems that the whitefish is extremely expensive. The suppliers are paying more and hiking up the prices and so it goes down the line. Now, of course, it's Pesach time so you will be paying more for everything for absolutely no reason at all.

brach's. and my local shop rite in NJ had it at 6.29
