Ribs take 6-8 hours to BBQ/Smoke, ribs on site is tough, they could finish on site. Do you just want grilled and not BBQ? There is a Hawaiian chicken caterer who does the farmers markets that is good, I forgot the name. How about a Taco Truck or a Taqiuero with his grill, that could be some yummy eats. Al Pastor, beans rice, fresh grilled jalapenos & green onions, damn!

Boneyard Bistro in Sherman Oaks does that, and they are the best.
Call Aaron Robins at 818.906.7427(ribs) and discuss it with him.
Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks, two blocks east of Woodman.

Zeke's Smokehouse has a barbecue trailer for catering. The Hollywood branch is part of the Target complex SM/LaBrea 323-850-9353.

I second the Zeke's idea. They're not that popular on the boards, but they are solid enough and perfect for what you are looking for.

My gripe with Zeke's Smokehouse is the small portion size when eating there. On the other hand, when you can have pretty much as much as you'd like when catered, it is VERY enjoyable.

Wow, I usually come away from Zeke's stuffed to the gills. I love the brisket platter and the pulled pork platter.

My favorite BBQ place, Porky's, is primarily a caterer and they've begun opening retail outlets. They do very fine food.

Checkout the California BBQ Association Website. They have caterers that will do a great job and have credentials to back it up. Many of them get booked way in advance because of the demand for good Q.

How about Robin's in Pasadena or Texas BBQ King in downtown (Temple and Fig). Not sure though if they bbq on site.
