Sake bombing in Lakeview?
I'd be at Matsuya in a heartbeat. One of my favorite no-frills sushi spots in the city. Don't get me wrong though - if you ask the chefs to set you up with what's extremely fresh, you will get the goods (just like any sushi joint.) Every time I go there, it's filled with Asian families with tables filled with sushi, udon, and teriyaki dishes, and the sushi bar is usually full. It's a no frills place that will let you make of it what you want. I always have a good time there. Last time I was there, I had a fantastic meal of mostly sushi (we simply let the chef present us with what was fresh) waaaaaay too much hot sake, and next thing I know, I was out until 4am on a Sunday night.

Another option - Itto on Halsted. It's a tad nicer, and has more of a hipster-ish feel IMO. You might not feel as out of place if you were to get a little rowdy at Itto - but I get rowdy at Matsuya all the time, and don't feel out of place.
I'm blanking on BYOB sushi spots in that area, but if you wanna travel a bit, then Butterfly, and Coast are options. That way, you can bring your poison of choice. Went to Butterfly a few weeks ago, and for nigiri, it wasn't all that bad. Lots of fashion rolls, but they had some pretty good fish that night. They also offer thai dishes on the menu which I've heard were just average.
