Berekert on Houston if it's not too far east for you.

Thanks I will try both, It's never too far for a good scarf. Is Yatagan the one with the big swarma wheel in the front window? or the one down the street?

It is giant isn't it. This is the only place I have been to and I love it even with the slippery floor. So have I found the spot?, or does life get any better than this?

Try Yatagan on Bleecker and Macdougal.

I agree with Yatagan, very good, cheap and filling

Not a fan of Yatagan, which sits like a rock in your stomach. The only place I found for European-style Doner is Kebap G on 2nd Ave at 95th.

ETA: Sadly, further research reveals that Kebap G is now closed. Boo!

If not Yatagan, then perhaps Kebab Garden. I haven't tried the Döner, but what I've had otherwise has been generally good. Shawarma at Alfanoose has also gotten good reviews.
