Need Restaurants for New Work Neighborhood... btwn 10th and 14th

doona Mar 11, 2008 07:33 AM

Our heading out away from all of my favs in Midtown going on down to my new office downtown.

Specifically though, looking for great places between 10th and 14th Street, and then between University and 6th Avenue.

(I know there are great ones outside of this area, but the only great ones I know IN this area are Gotham and Strip House.) Any other suggestions?

Danal just moved to east 10th street. Very good frenc/mad food. Also, Piadina and Alta on West 10th, Cru on 5th and 8th street, also Otto and 8th Street Wine Cellar are in that area too. Gradisca on 13th and 6th is good for Italian.

Is it for both lunch and dinner? (Alta only has dinner)

If you have a sweet (and/or savory) tooth, P*ONG is available.

Grey Dog Coffee for some quick grab of coffe. Murray's for bagel.

Although Casa Mono is a few blocks outside of your area, it is totally worth the trip!

Also stand for a burger and a toasted marshmallow milkshake. I agree about Casa Mono.

um, you mean chocolate malted shake :)

also, jack's bistro on university and 12th is actually quite solid for lunch...nice quiet place for a meal. french roast on 6th and 11th is competent enough as well.

I take it the chocolate malted is good?

Bar Six on 6th betw. 12th & 13th for after work drinks and snacks. Maybe lunch too, but I've only been there later.
