Westchester Delis with homemade...

Miss the good old days of delis with great homemade stuff. Does anyone have any discoveries of good Westchester delis with great homemade (from scratch) soups and great homemade cole slaw/pot salad? Thanks!

It's not a deli, but A M'Mangiare in Bronxville has really good homemade soups. I don't go there, but Over The Moon on Kraft Avenue, though not a deli but a take-out shop makes some good soups. I was at someone's house who served the butternut squash soup, and it was surprisingly good -- not sweet, like the liquid candy that so many places seem to put out. This was savory and very tasty. Also, believe it or not, the roasted chicken soup at Costco is wonderful.

Park Deli in Port Chester has all freshly homemade salads. I once heard that the chef there went to the CIA and the catering is suppose to be great, but I haven't had it. I have had the salad, wraps, paninis. All freshly made.

I'm almost positive that Lange's Deli (one in Bronxville on Pondfield Road and one in Scarsdale) make their own potato salad/cole slaw/macaroni salad and a lot of other yummy salads.

They also have great sandwiches. It is a little on the expensive side but whenever I'm home visiting my parents I always stop there to get something.

I think the new deli in Ardsley, Good to Go, makes all of thier own stuff. The wraps are wonderful...
