Your know your neighborhood best!

Hey Chow Friends,

I am deemed to be married, yeah!!! I am writing you to ask for your biggest help! I need your help in finding a restaurant or reception site. You see I am a bride on very humble budget. I would like to spend under about $40 per person and I have 100 people to invite. I have been rejected from so many places it is a little sad. Not very attractive for my fiance. If you can scour your neighborhood and give me the names and telephone numbers or addresses of places you think can fit our means please do so. Cuisine should be either American, French, Italian or Chinese. I would love your help! You will make a bride and groom very happy for the rest of her life!

I think in Manhattan, your best bet would be a banquet in Chinatown. They generally go for more than $40 per person but there are usually eight courses and certain traditional wedding foods are served. Perhaps you can work out your own banquet with the restaurant. To save money, you can have six courses instead of eight and not have too many expensive seafood dishes. Some restaurants in Chinatown that you can try are:

    Amazing 66
    Jing Fong
    Ping's
    Golden Bridge

Weddings on a budget can be done with some elbow grease and creativity. My cousin got married with a budget similar to yours. She did say looking back if she could do it over that she would halve her invites and keep the same budget. Have you thought about cutting back on the guest list?
