Asia Cafe - Any good vegetarian choices?
I love Asia cafe. I've been trying to convince a couple of my vegetarian friends to come with me, but I've never tried the vegetarian options on the menu (sans the green beans). I'm a little worried that the veggie offerings won't live up to the awesome meat dishes.
Are there any vegetarians that frequent Asia Cafe? What should I tell my friends to get?

Another vegetarian here as well! ;) Here are my recommendations...
Eggplant with garlic sauce--more on the sweet side (rather than spicy as indicated on menu), but absolutely delicious nonetheless.
Dry Bean Curd with mustard green--simple dish, but i rather enjoy the slight crunch and bitterness from the chopped fresh mustard greens.
Bitter melon with dry bean curd--okay, i don't recommend this if you've never had bitter melon, but i love this stuff. bitter melon is DEFINITELY an ACQUIRED taste, as it is QUITE bitter... i grew up eating the stuff, so am used to it and crave it every now and then.i like the following side veggie items also, but they are really quite simple and won't likely enthrall you like the meat dishes probably would. at first taste they seem just okay, but get somehow addictive after a while, not sure why...
Stir fried pea leaves
Green beans
water spinach with garlic
shredded potato with bell pepperthe only two dishes i have NOT liked are the tofu vegetable soup (too basic for me) and the sweet&sour lotus root (just not what i was expecting)
not sure about special ordering here, but you could try ordering the ma po tofu without the pork. i'm sure I might be able to get away with it, since i'm kind of a regular customer now... ;) doesn't hurt to ask though...
i have to say that the thing that makes this place so great is not necessarily the taste of the food (as everyone's tastes can usually differ), but actually how authentic it is. i happen to like the taste as well, so it's an added bonus for me... ;)
thanks for the braised tofu recommendation Hsien_Ko, i'm definitely gonna try that next now!
