Planning ahead - Sept. 5-7 stay in Chicago

My daughter and I are looking for a French-Italian restaurant close to North Michigan. Nothing too fancy: just friendly and very good. Any suggestion? Thanks

    I like Bistrot Zinc at 1131 North State - not far from North Michigan Ave.

      For French, I recommend Bistro 110, right off Michigan Avenue near the Water Tower. For Italian, I recommend Cafe Spiaggia, Michigan Avenue at Oak Street. Both are part of the same restaurant group and thus have the same website: www.levyrestaurants.com

      At either one, you really don't have to make a reservation more than a month in advance, although there's no harm in doing so, of course. Both accept reservations on opentable.com
