Good Meal at the Biltmore

There are many Biltmore loyalists on this board and so I wanted to report that I had an excellent meal there last night. Though the place is under new management, the staff couldn't have been more efficient and friendly and the food was terrific. I was there during the transition stage when they had about 3 items available and it took an hour to get a chicken sandwich, so last night's experience was a vast improvement.

They have made some changes to the menu and some favorites have disappeared, like chicken under a brick and the hot turkey sandwich, but the winter salad with camembert croutons was memorable and the fish and chips was well done. The carrot cake was a bit of a disappointment, however.

I know this won't console those who were loyal to the old team, but I am pleased to know that it's still a good local place to dine.

      1. I sat at the bar for a cocktail and a salad last Thursday night. Had the pear, roasted beets, bacon salad with mesclun green. The pears were rock hard. They were inedible. The dressing tasted like drizzled bacon fat. A few work colleagues went for lunch and everyone was unimpressed.
