My-T-Fine Bakery/Cafe - Closed (MSP)

  • 6

It looks like the My-T-Fine has closed. It was one of my favorite Sunday morning stops. I went by this morning and there was a sign on the door saying it was closed, along with another nice sign to the postal carrier thanking him.

  1. !! we almost went there this morning, too! -- bummer about it closing.. it was a lovely spot.

    1. Yeah..I heard this a couple weeks back and, frankly, it really pissed me off. I loved the place.

I guess the best thing I can do about it is keep supporting the likes of Colossal Cafe, Common Roots, Rustica, Cupcake and stuff along those lines. Maybe others can throw in their favorite small, corner places as a reminder to people to get in there and eat/drink/relax. Post away.

      1. I vote for Gigi's on 36th and Bryant. That was my go-to place to meet vendors when planning my wedding. They put up with a lot of annoying spreading-out of photo albums, invitations, flower pictures, and the like, with nary a raised eyebrow. In addition to having delicious foods and great coffee, they were angels of tolerance.

Hey...thanks for that. My wife is on the other side of that table (owns a company that requires those types of meetings) and I'm always suggesting places for her meet clients. My-T-Fine was a good spot, though I didn't send her at peak hours as they had limited seating.

          What's really good at Gigi's?

Their menu changes seasonally and according to the whim of the chef. They usually have sandwiches, salads, layered casseroles (black-bean tortilla, etc) and hearty soups (I love soup, and I had some delicious soups there), and their bars are classic- they had a seven-layer bar (which we called Magic bard where I grew up) that I looked forward to. It's been a few months since I've been there, and I think I shall rectify it soon.

That's what the closing of My-T-Fine has inspired me to do as well. Thanks for taking the time to reply -- I'll be sending my wife there soon I suspect.
