i'm recovering from the stomach flu but i want to go out and relax at a nice place where i can get a simple chicken breast and fruit salad. my husband, not in need of such simplicity, wants to have some choices. any ideas in the pasadena, eagle rock, atwater village and glendale corridor? be nice to find something new anyway, we are getting into a restaurant rut!

It's a little on the nose, but have you thought about Koo Koo Roo or Boston Market? It's not like "omgz the best food evar" but it's good anyway and there are choices for your husband.

May I suggest Canele in Atwater? Chicken is on their menu though I haven't tried it. There will be plenty of choices for your husband. I've tried their Bronzino and their lambchops, both are very good. Figure on $50 pp with wine. The waitress gave us a free refill on our wine because she had made a mistake with our orders. Very nice, pleasant place.

Central Park or maybe Houston's ... both in Pasadena.

I would suggest Cafe Bizou for their 1/2 roasted chicken. It is simple, crisp, moist and delicious. I'm not sure about the fruit part of your request but they do have many options. www.cafebizou.com There should be plenty of options for your husband as well. My personal favorite is the monk fish over saffron risotto and for dessert theapple tarte tatin.
