Cozy Restaurant in Soho/Greenwich Village area for Sunday lunch

I am arriving in NYC via bus to visit with an old friend on a Sunday. The bus drops off in Chinatown and I will only have from 12-5:30.

I am looking for recommendations for restaurants near Soho/Greenwich Village, etc. that are cozy, homey, not too loud or expensive. Basically someplace where we can enjoy a nice meal, but really chat and catch up in a nice atmosphere where we won't be rushed by the server.

Maybe one place for lunch and another for coffee and dessert?

I've been to NYC many times and don't mind walking.

Thanks in advance!

Zoe's works for me on Prince by Mercer. Food is very good.

Zoe in soho is my personal Fav, make sure you ask for Chef Victor, the executive chef, he will make sure your meal is the best it can be.

I second Cornelia St. Cafe and August which tend to be less noisy (though it is a relative term) during lunch. But they can still be extremely crowded.

If you like french bistro food, you can try Le Gigot.
