Need recommendation for non-seafood, non-pork eater

I have a friend coming into town in a few weeks who does not eat seafood or pork. I'd like to still go to someplace that is truly a New Orleans experience but need to accommodate him as well. Any recommendations? Moderate price (not necessarily cheap) would be appreciated, we're both just out of graduate school so budgets are tight.

  1. Unless it's a seafood-only kind of place, most restaurants should be able to accommodate your friend.

Have a look at Brigtsen's menu, for example:

    Veal...duck...chicken...beef...I'm sure it's all great.

Here's an exhaustive list of restaurants. Many of these listings link to the restaurant's web site, where you can have a look at the menu:

P.S. Brigtsen's isn't exactly cheap, so what about someplace like Adolfo's (Frenchman St.), which has a couple of veal dishes and rack of lamb? (Just make sure to BYOB, as the wines are notoriously substandard. It's worth paying the restaurant's very reasonable corkage fee.)

    1. Mandina's Restaurant for a moderately priced meal.

Meatballs or Italian Sausage with Spaghetti
Veal or Chicken Parmesan and Spaghetti
Filet Mignon with Potatoes and Vegetable
      Ribeye with Potatoes and Vegetable
      etc.

      Sandwiches:
      Roast Beef on French
      Meatballs on French
      Italian Sausage on French
      etc.
