Chili in Orange County?

Does anyone have any good recommendations for chili in orange county? Restaurant, take out, even fast food. I'm open to all.

Red Rock Chili in Fashion Island is really quite good. Also, if you happen to be at Houston's in Irvine on Saturday night, they serve an excellent bowl of chili, but only on Saturday!

There's Charlie's Chili at the foot of the Newport Pier - but I can't vouch for the quality, haven't been there in years. Anyone been recently ?

Only place I know of that specializes in chili in OC is Red Rock Chili, near Fashion Island. Haven't been there yet myself.

I typically only get chili as a side order, but a couple of places I like it at are Tommy Pastrami, usually with their beef brisket sandwich, and Ribs on the Run.with their beef ribs.

I tried Red Rock Chili at Fashion Island a year or two back. I remember it being quite good, even though it did seem a bit corporate in style. They have a ton of choices and, at the time anyway, will provide tasting samples of each upon request.

I agree. When pregnant with my daughter I used to go there at least once a week (husband works across the street) for their chili in a bread bowl. I wish I could remember which kind it was, but it had lots of tender beef and beans. They also have Cincinnati style, veggie, and several others.

Across the street from my office is Boudin SF. Also a decent beef chili (with beans) that is particularly good in the sour dough bread bowl. Another chain, but a decent chain as far as chains go....

Just saw a new place on harbor and chapman, in fullerton, called outlaw's bbq and chilli. I think it has been open only a couple weeks. Maybe you can try it and report back. Good luck.
