Cheese Curds on Hwy 28?

My father always stopped the car to pick-up curds from some little shop just north of Port Hope. He just loved the things. That was many years ago. Anybody know the name of the place, if it still exists, and whether or not they still sell cheese curds? Any clues would be appreciated.

  1. You mean Herma's Fine Foods and Gifts on Highway 28? Still there.

THANKS!!! Do you know if they still have the curds? They seem so fancy now. If it's the same place, they were not so fancy 35 years ago.

Googs, is it the place you are looking for or the curds?
Once you are out of the city, there are lots of places that sell curds. Usually Empire Cheese co. If you are heading east, the mill in Tyrone carries curds along with homemade donuts...mmmmm. They are about 15 minutes north of the 401 at Liberty St., which is about 30 minutes west of Port Hope. Also the General Store in Enniskillen carries curds - I pick them up every Friday. It is farther north than Tyrone.

It's the place I'm seeking for a little cheese curds and nostalgia. Thank you for asking though D&D.
