El Pelon Take-Out- 1 hour wait!!??!!
Just called in my office lunch order for El Pelon (7 items). The guy on the phone said it would be an hour! That seems crazy for burritos. I love El Pelon but if that becomes the lunch rush norm we won't be able to go anymore. Has anyone had this experience since they re-opened?

Never. I've been 3 or 4 times since opening, all between 11 and 1 (usually with a group of 4) and we've never had to wait more than a couple minutes. It has actually been surprisingly prompt. That's shocking; I feel like something else must be going on (other huge takeout order, some people didn't show for work, something).
Oh well, 1 hour is a short time for the best burrito in the city.›4 Replies-

I didn't believe the hour so I showed up after 45 minutes and sure enough my food was ready for me. Looked like a new guy on the phone. I'm sure it was crowded and he freaked out and said an hour. Sadly, the wait was probably only 25-30 minutes (given our group order) and my carmelos were no long warm. They were still yummy but they would have been outstanding hot.
Lesson: Don't believe them. I would have rather waited there and at least have my food hot.
