Chicken Fiesta, Richmond, VA good darn chicken

Tried Chicken Fiesta (Midlothian Tpke @ Buford Rd) last night for some take out. Brought home a whole roasted chicken, some pork ribs, rice, beans, cole slaw and house salad.

The chickens are good over a wood-fired rotisserrie and was one of the best roasted chickens I've had and definitely the best ready-to-eat one in the area. The ribs were very good also...very tender and not overcooked. The yellow rice was standard but good, the pinto beans were phenominal. The salad and cole slaw were pretty ordinary. Also got a flan and slice of tres leches cake for dessert. The flan was outstanding and the cake very good, but a little sweet for me.

For a quick dinner at a good price, it's great. They also have tacos and enchiladas and quesadillas on the menu.

Also, the place was VERY clean and the staff friendly and helpful.

  1. Is this in the tin roof building that used to be something else (I can't remember what)? Sounds good - when I'm up that way, I'll try it.

I don't think so. It's a very small building and it next door to Wendy's and a hair salon.

Gotcha - I know where it is. I think it used to be a little mexican joint, maybe. I used to live up that way 20 years ago - my, how the area has evolved. Looking forward to checking out Chicken Fiesta. Thanks for the tip!
