The Fabulous 5 Miami

taiga Mar 6, 2008 03:56 PM

Before T-Mobile invented their 5, a group of friends from Phoenix (of all places) had what we called the Fabulous 5. The requirement was that the 5 were all humble offerings -- we were poor and hustling but hungry.

So – what is your Fabulous 5 for Miami?

I will suggest:

Chicken Kara-Age at Su-Shin Izekaya
a prosciutto sandwich on French bread from La Sandwicherie
any empanada with aji pebre at Sabores Chilenos
Citrus Cardio at Sun Juice
Indian mango sorbet at The Frieze

I can come up with tons of top 5 lists like this, but these are probably the ones that fit the "humble offering" criteria:

      Crispy bok choy - Yakko-san
      Negitoro wasabi ae - Matsuri
      Pork belly/Kimchee - Michael's Genuine
Vaca frita de pollo - Havana Harry's
Crema de papaya with creme de cassis - Piola

I never tried the crema de papaya and I happen to be going to Piola tonight. Thanks Lax.
