The Fabulous 5 Miami

Before T-Mobile invented their 5, a group of friends from Phoenix (of all places) had what we called the Fabulous 5. The requirement was that the 5 were all humble offerings -- we were poor and hustling but hungry.

So – what is your Fabulous 5 for Miami?

I will suggest:

Chicken Kara-Age at Su-Shin Izekaya
a prosciutto sandwich on French bread from La Sandwicherie
any empanada with aji pebre at Sabores Chilenos
Citrus Cardio at Sun Juice
Indian mango sorbet at The Frieze

Jumbo Ravioli filled with taro root mousseline, white truffle oil and light mushroom cappuccino- Blue Door at the Delano
House made fontina filled ravioli drizzled w. truffle oil- Quattro

      Custard Buns from Tropical Chinese
      Beef cheek from Michael's Genuine
Pastrami on seedless rye with a shmear of chopped liver from Rascal House
Fresh French Bread from Bin no 18 with their truffled cheese
Tart key lime pie from Joe's

    2. I can come up with tons of top 5 lists like this, but these are probably the ones that fit the "humble offering" criteria:

      Crispy bok choy - Yakko-san
      Negitoro wasabi ae - Matsuri
      Pork belly/Kimchee - Michael's Genuine
Vaca frita de pollo - Havana Harry's
Crema de papaya with creme de cassis - Piola

I never tried the crema de papaya and I happen to be going to Piola tonight. Thanks Lax.

It's simple but so good. Glad you liked it.
