re: winechic
Winechic YOU ROCK........ that is exactly the type info i was looking for. Both Capriccio (I actually won two bottles of wine with the raffle, a first!!!!) and the Jiko wine dinners were excellent. I have heard that the dinners at Hemisphere's are excellent and supposedly they do a special 4th of July event that is spectacular with a orchestra of some type. It's been awhile but K's dinners used to be very good. Funky Monkey got off to a shakey start with their initial dinner but I hear that their subsequent dinner was very good and they are supposedly going to do a drag dinner (I heard raves about the first ones) once a month.

Thanks!
Please be sure to let us know how they are, the Sonoma one at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress looked pretty nice. Since I don't eat meat, I don't attend many dinners. (Though the chefs are very accomodating when I do attend!)
Hemisphere's dinners are wonderful and you don't hear much about them. Seems to be one of those "best kept secrets" that I might have just ruined. Worth a try, even for regular dinner. I had a wonderful Sea Bass with Miso broth that they are known for. Top notch, nice price. I love the Miso crusted black cod at Nobu and this dish has a nod in that direction.
Cheers!

re: herbert1
Just found out about Paris Bistro's Wine dinners. There is one later this month, they are held two times per month and VERY REASONABLE in price. ( I had to clarify that were weren't talking about a Prix Fixe without wine.) Wine dinners are usually 5-7 courses, some are held with wine makers. Very nice rustic French cuisine. On a side note, we recently enjoyed dinner there. For Apps Hubby and I enjoyed: Frog Legs, Mussels and Escargot. For dinner the Veal was a nice choice, as was the Duck with option of Cherry or Peach. Hubby opted for Cherry sauce which was wonderful. The desserts are great if you have room. Everything we had from start to finish was wonderful!
Wine list is currently petite, but is expanding very soon. Wine dinners do offer food and wine not on the menu. Call for dates or to have details emailed to you. Website will be coming soon.
