ISO: Mini Ciabatta Buns

NovoCuisine Mar 6, 2008 08:05 AM

Was at Terroni yesterday and they had "mini paninis" that were served on small ciabatta buns/rolls. They were probably 3 inches all around. Wondering if anyone knows where to get these?

One was a bresaola and young goat cheese (I think), another with prosciutto, bocconcini and arugula, and a third - and my favourite - with porchetta and a hard cheese.. I think it was asiago.

I really want to do the mini porchetta sandwiches for a get together I'm having soon.

Nino D'Aversa Bakery has mini ciabattas. Not sure if they are mini enough for you, but you could give it a try. I buy them frequently from the Keele & Finch location, but I would assume that all three locations would have them.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I just looked them up and all three of their locations are out of my no-car-havin' reach.

Ask where they get theirs......and ask if either you can buy from them or could they order some for you to pick up there......Terroni on Yonge at Balmoral has often sold me some of the large ciabatta......Miranda

I really did mean to ask the server about them, but a litre of Puglian wine later...

          I've seen them at Loblaws.

Dominion carries Ciabatta Rolls made by Irresistibles which are quite nice. I don't remember how many were in the bag (9 maybe) and they were $2.99.

I went to the Dominion on Front St. today and found these! 35 cents a piece.. perfect size. Thank you very much.

Costco sells big bags of small, round ciabatta buns. I think there are, like, 30 (0r thereabouts) in a bag. I just got some last week.

Thanks for the suggestion; I'll keep an eye out the next time my parents bring me on one of their Costco excursions ;) Lack a membership personally.
