re: Sharuf
canfield's chocolate soda! http://www.epinions.com/reviews/Fudge_Canfield_s_Chocolate_Soda_Diet_72_fl_oz
and their diet chocolate soda is good to mix with "alba" to make a diet shake that is thick and delicious -- esp. with a touch of vanilla extract added in. http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&...

re: alkapal
That Canfield's url is a review of their diet (eeerrrk!!) soda. I'm looking for regular chocolate soda, unpolluted by faux sweeteners. This type of product does not seem to exist.
The Alba product description contains the dreaded word "Splenda". Artificial sweeteners are a total deal breaker for me.

re: Sharuf
yes sharuf, but canfields makes a regular chocolate soda, iirc. sorry i pasted wrong link.
while the chocolate soda you seek does not have artificial sweeteners, a "soda" will definitely have artificial flavoring.
and chowindown, the best flavor to use of the alba is vanilla, blended with the canfield's diet chocolate soda. it seems more like a traditional chocolate shake than using the chocolate alba. but for so few calories, experiment! good calcium source, too.

re: Sharuf
well, maybe i didn't recall correctly. nowadays, it would probably be with HFCS anyhow. i guess yoo-hoo doesn't cut it, huh? ;-) this is an interesting bit of yoo-hoo histoire: http://www.yoo-hoo.com/about/default....

re: Sharuf
i think yoo-hoo is everywhere in the u.s. but maybe san francisco's enlightened elite politicians have banned it. ;-)
a/c to this zoom info on cadbury schweppes (yoo-hoo's brandparent --ha! get it?!) (sorry, just had to do that), the company acquired a san fran bottler in 2006: "During the year ended December 31, 2006, the Company acquired All American Bottling Company and Seven Up Bottling Company of San Francisco." http://www.zoominfo.com/Search/Compan...

We became hooked on Cherry Chocolate Diet Dr. Pepper (purchased at local Wal-Mart in Springdale, AR). None of the Wal-Marts (or other stores in our area) appear to carry it anymore. We are chocoholics and want to spare the calories. We can accommodate to variations in the pure taste one expects from either chocolate or cherry. I hope their resurrect it.

It was gross. Went to a gas station that had no other Dr Pepper (the only soda I will drink.) So, thought I'd give it a whirl.
Tasted like chocolate cherry Nyquil. Couldn't take more than a sip. Same as my boyfriend, who also loves Dr Pepper.›2 Replies -
try canfield's diet chocolate fudge soda.
i used to blenderize it with ice and vanilla alba '77 for a low fat, low-cal shake.

looks like there may be a cherry chocolate version, too.

I like most every soda..and am especially forgiving if its diet...but this stuff...YUCK. My dad bought 2 cases on a whim. Thats 8 completely wasted dollars in my opinion. At first sip, the dr pepper and cherry taste hits you....not too bad...perhaps a little articifical tasting and sweet, but hey, if you were against artificial sweetner, you wouldnt have pooped the tab in the first place. Then, as you swallow, the chocolate hits you. My first thought was "gee this tastes like a chocolate tootsie roll pop". Now i like the choco pops. but the pop is full of crunchy, chewy, sugary goodness. but this? Imagine liquifying it. and taking out the things that make it great and to add insult to injury make it fake sugar. whats left??? It was just too over the top artificial for me. I tried to like it. I really did. I spend too much in diet coke as it is and if i didnt have to buy any for 2 weeks, hey thats 8 dollars saved to me. but I couldnt do it. haha my dad has to now figure out how to get rid of 23 cans of this vile stuff. i told him not to do it...

I tried it. It's ok. I won't buy it again as there are other flavors I like much better, like Cherry Coke Zero.

re: GenieinTX
I remember flying a lot in the 90's, and whenever I got the generic "Beverage?" question from the flight attendants, I used to request "Caffeine-free Diet Cherry Coke". This usually resulted in a momentarily befuddled look before a halting reply of "Uh, we don't have it on this flight".

I'll probably try it, but I'm so fed up with this diversifying of Dr. Pepper. Dr. Pepper(the original) is my favorite soda and nowadays it's more and more difficult to find at my local stores because they feel the need to carry all the flavored varieties in regular and diet. Sigh.

I tried it. I can do the whole vaguely prune flavored and cherry thing, butt the tang of the artifical chocolate flavor was just over the top for me. It adds a strange note. It's not bitter, but something I can't put my finger on it. I suspect this is something people will either LOVE, or hate.
