Henry's on the UWS has a fantastic oatmeal at the brunch. They serve it with a tea pot full of steamed milk, which was a delightful idea. Also, they give a huge basket of mini muffins at the beginning of the meal for free. Not a crowded place for brunch, but well worth a try.

The oatmeal with fresh berries was very good at Le Pain Quotidien which are located in many areas of Manhattan but the coffee I had with it was dreadful, maybe it was a bad day but if I go again I'll have tea.

'wichcraft has great oatmeal. It's $4. Steel cut oatmeal with cinnamon brown sugar butter, toasted nuts and dried fruits.

I agree. The nuts are really good and you get lots of them. And at the Rock Center location it comes with free coffee in the morning.

Personally, I like the oatmeal at the pump, but I am a bit of a health freak and like the taste of protein powder mixed in.

The cupping room in Tribeca has very good oatmeal, as does Ej's.

It is fabulous at the Rock Center Cafe, they use heavy cream and sprinkle berries on it.

I like the oatmeal at city bakery. It's not cheap but it has a GREAT texture and you can put whatever toppings you want on it.

If it has a great texture it's probably steel cut oatmeal like McCann's Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal that comes in a can. I remember a place in downtown Philadelphia that served it with heavy cream and a bowl of brown sugar on the side. Every Sunday there was a line waiting to get a seat.
