Good Fish and Chips Recs?

Hi, I'm new to the board. Although I feel fairly familiar with the restaurant scene in Austin; I'm always looking for new places =)

I've been looking for decent fish and chips in Austin for a while, and have been thus far throughly let down. In particular, I found the fish and chips at the Dog and Duck Pub near UT campus to be exceptionally nasty (having the magical properties of being overcooked AND undercooked at the same time). Any places you guys would recommend?

Yes, the link does document the, basically futile, search for good fish/chips in Austin. Many times the stumbling block is the chips; I doen't really understand this fascination with coating the ships with "stuff", a la Hyde Park Grill. A Fado's manager told me not long ago just to ask for plain chips and the chef will omit the step where he renders the chips inedible.

I have been lucky at Mother Egan's and it is discounted on Monday and Friday early afternoons. I have a special sweet tooth for their deep fried snickers bar as well.

On a nice day I take a long lunch on the patio along with a Guinness...
