Calgary -- Caffe Mauro, Where Are You?

Ever since Caffe Mauro closed down on 1st street (along with Falafel King), I've been trying to find out if has reopened anywhere, or if Sal has plans to find a new location. The internet has been no help at all. I'm in severe meatball panini withdrawl here. Please help with any information. Anyone who can clue me in on this issue will have my undying gratitude.

Colin- per Fauzi, of Falafel King, Sal is working as chef at some Ital resto in Airdrie and has no plans to re-open Caffe Mauro, sorry.

Well that's bad news for sandwich lovers everywhere, but I appreciate the info. Maybe I'll check out the place he's working at. Thanks, John.

I haven't been in yet, but just last week I noticed the sign for Caffe Mauro at 999 - 8 Street SW (close to MEC). I'm hoping the only thing that's changed is the location - and maybe a few more seats!

What SUPERB news- they had the best meatball sandwich... This must be the space that was a coffee place of some description before, eh?

I saw it as well. I think it used to be Inspiring Grounds??

You got it- the sort of mediocre mom and pop coffee place that was "good enough" in Calgary. Thank God those days are over!
