Road Trip - Dinner in Eugene

suebette Mar 3, 2008 07:07 PM

I will be traveling in Oregon next week (from the Bay Area) and I am looking for a rec for a dinner stop on the way from Ashland to Portland. Looking at the map I am thinking Eugene might be the place to stop.
I am looking for a restaurant that emphasizes seasonal/local - and highlighting Oregon ingredients would be awesome. Probably nothing super-fancy since we will be rolling out of the car but plates in the twenties/thirties would be ok. Thanks!!

Marche's not bad, but by the time you get to Eugene, you're only about 1.5 hours away from Portland. You might consider holding out and waiting to have dinner in Portland instead, where the dining scene is much more inspired than Eugene's.

I would second the nomination for Marche; I've not been to Adam's Place.

          Two great Eugene place:

          1. Marche'
          2. Adams Place

Both Marche' and Adams Place use local providers etc, problem this time of year is their is not much local produce. Don't worry about dress, it is Eugene. Of the two Marche' is probably the better and our favorite.
