  1. I think it is open now- we're going to check it out to celebrate my taking the MPRE this Saturday unless someone reports awful things beforehand.

    1. I have been for both lunch and dinner now and both were fairly good, with dinner having a definite edge as it offers a much more extensive and interesting menu than lunch (a small number of salads and sandwiches but tasty). The food is pan-Med, with the dinner menu offering numerous small plates to choose from, as well as a few entrees. Prices are very reasonable (small plates about $5 - $12; larger ones mostly under $20). Service is friendly but still getting used to the place and its menu. It is a nice addition to the neighborhood but not worth a special trip, at least as yet.

Does this place have a full liquor license or just beer and wine? I was choosing if for the MPRE celebration (which by the way, is an ethics exam all would be attorneys need to take) because it's within walking distance.

I'm guessing that based on New Trial's screen name, he probably has an idea of what the MPRE entails ;). Good luck -- if you studied at all you should be fine!

I know they were discussing having wine for the grand opening on March 1, 2008 but I do not know whether they obtained a license for any forms of alcohol. A check of the ABC website did not list Lido in either MDR or Venice (nor L.A., for that matter). Best bet is to call them: 310-577-3030. If not, Beechwood, where Abbott Kinney dead-ends at Washington, has a full bar and is a great place to celebrate. Good luck with the MPRE!

Thanks! I'm not feeling too tortured about the MPRE- bummer about no alcohol at Lido- we may check it out and then get some drinks elsewhere! I've been waiting for this place to open since we live so close.

You can bring your own. They are applying for a beer and wine license.

They don't have a liquor license yet but hope to in a month's time. Right now you can BOYB. For wine, corkage is $5; for beer, $2.
