All-You-Can-Eat Sushi on La Cienega

Creamfinger Mar 3, 2002 02:51 AM

A few weeks ago I overheard somebody talking about an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant on La Cienega.

Does anybody know about this place?
Is it any good?

Dunno...maybe its Todai @ the beverly center.

That place is good if you've never had sushi before or you just want to eat a lot or try a lot of pseudo japanese food/deserts for 20 bucks. Honestly, its not BAD for certain purposes like taking your grandparents out for a sunday lunch or something or introducing yourself to a variety of food.

No, it's not Todai I'm asking about. I don't really consider Todai a sushi restaurant (although they certainly serve sushi... if you can call it that).

In my opinion Todai is quite correctly named. Only go there if you want "to die" (ha ha... I crack myself up).

I have seen an all you can eat place on LaCienega just south of Wilshire - I think it's called Samurai(?). I am curious about it as well, but have never tried it.

This is an aside. In January I ate at a sushi restaurant in Tokyo featuring eat all you want for about $35 including tax and service. The really interesting part is that you have 90 minutes to finish (service is prompt and most people finish before that time) and you have to pay heavy penalties for anything NOT EATEN. By the way the sushi was superior to most American places and the variety was much broader.Mid range in Japan.

Its Samurai Sushi. Its on La Cienega a half block south of Wilshire. I've had their all-you-can eat lunch sushi (don't know if dinner price is different). I think it was $25. The sushi was o.k., not bad, but nothing spectacular either. I guess if you're a big eater, this might suit you.
