It's eliminating a good portion of foot traffic these places rely upon. There are some great spots like Nicks, Nina's and Buddha BBeeQ smack in the middle of it all. They could definitely use some local support. Mon Mar 03 14:18:35 -0800 2008 3456010 10985 MMRuth 1 3456543 We just got back from our weekly dinner at Ichiro, further down 2nd Ave. We asked if they'd been affected at all by the construction, and a man, who I'm guessing is the owner, said that they have a place up on 94th and 2nd that has a had a huge drop off in business. No help from the city either. Dinner was great, for the price, as usual. We noticed that Cafe d'Alsace looked pretty empty at 7pm, btw. What do you like at Nina's? I especially like the El Che (sundried tomatoes & ricotta cheese & cheese) and the Portena (mushrooms & onions, sauce & cheese). Now is the perfect time to give them a try.
