BBB is within a 5-minute walk of nearly every restaurant identified as being in "North Beach", so what you are really asking is "what's good in North Beach?" which is a pretty broad question. L'Osteria del Forno probably tops the list by acclaim (though it's a very small place with a very small menu) but you would do well to review preview previous threads about North Beach.

I am fond of Joe Dimaggio's on Stockton and Union, right near BBB. Other than that, Steps of Rome can be touristy but the food is always spot on.

Joe Dimaggio's and Moose's are within walking distance. We did Moose's last time I went to BBB, and it was fine, something for everyone but nothing spectacular.

Capps Corner is right next door. A fantastic neighborhood bar with really good oso buco. The trick is to stick with the oso buco though...

Capp's is the last remaining old-school North Beach family-style place. Though in a nod to modernity you can order a la carte if you prefer.
