PASTINA Italian Restaurant in W.LA !

  • r

I went to PASTINA last night with a group of W&F guys from LA. WOW! This place has incredible Barrata cheese, Lobster Ravioli, VEAL CHOP, the BEST Cheesecake. Also the owner(Franco) is very flexible about corkage another plus.

That's right - is this owned by one of the Dragos?

NO!!!! It's owned by Franco Catullo who with his wife Nancy started it 8 or 9 years ago and I just found it less than a year ago and I live in NB in OC so I visit it normally once a week. If I lived closer I'd be there several times a week. It's a secret! Wally's is just down the street. I had dinner with Celestino Drago two months ago at the Bel Air Hotel and I don't think he has any plans on expanding his empire at present, but you never know.

The restaurant owned by Drago in Westwood is Tanino's. And don't you mean burrata cheese, Russkar? I've had it recently at Alto Palato, served with a few greens on paper thin prosciutto and drizzled with balsamic vinegar. How much more perfect can simplicity get? The richness of the oozing burrata baked within mozzerella, contrasted with the semi-salty prosciutto and tart balsamic is an absolutely divine combination.
