Search these boards -- about every 4 months there's a visitor with your situation. The steak house in the hotel is your only fine dining option on foot -- you're 6 miles out of town in an area that's pretty much just the hotel and its immediate environs. There's a Texas-style bbq place in the Opry Mills mall next to the hotel. It's reasonably good but not our finest. The barbecue in the airport might actually be better. Catfish place across the street from the hotel is okay. Thai place on Music Valley drive is good. That's about it.

This was discussed a few weeks ago. You can take a shuttle (not free, apparently) from Opryland Hotel to downtown Nashville (2nd Ave) where you will be in very close proximity to Jack's BBQ. Arnold's would be quite a walk from there (12 blocks or so), but would be a very short cab ride.

You might know this already, but Arnold's is only open for lunch M-F.
