New Locopops, and Sugarland

I've become completely addicted to Sugarland. It's new a bakery/gelato/coffee place in Chapel Hill near the university. They have fantastic scones and chocolate cupcakes, and all the gelato I've tried (chocolate hazelnut, raspberry, Italian cherry, caramel) has been pretty excellent too.

Also in good dessert news... Locopops just opened a fourth store in Raleigh, on Hillsborough Street, and they're about to open a fifth one in Hillsborough itself. Here's hoping they get to Chicago before I move there...

Funny you should ask. I read that they close at 6PM for now - and might stay open later soon (for the Spring/Summer).

I got ready to go yesterday (for the first time, actually) - and then I realised it was 5:45. (That was obviously the hour that I lost.....)

You know, I take the bus to and from work. It's the TTA 105 that goes down Hillsborough St. I went by today around 6:20 to 6:30 maybe. I say people standing at the counter. They looked open. I think I'm going to get off the bus a few stops early tomorrow for some frosty recon. I'll report back.

Guess what? Went there today and can confirm opening hours of noon-9PM!!!

I had the strawberry five spice and the wee ones had mojito (very minty!) and tamarind pear (verrrry nice indeed).

They only take (cash and checks).

Sweet! That's for the heads up on needing cash, which I almost never have on me.

Alright, I stopped by last night and got 9 to go. It's buy eight, get one.

I tried the lingonberry. It was awesome. So good in fact, that I had to have the raspberry hibiscus too. Also really tasty.

I can't tell you how happy I am that they have come to Raleigh and are successful enough to have 5 shops.

                I love this place.
