what to do with black trumpet mushrooms?

Hello Everyone. The farmer's market in DC this morning had some black trumpet mushrooms on special that I bought without knowing anything about the flavor of black trumpets compared to other mushrooms or what to do with them. Does anyone have any suggestions for things to make with them?

  1. wild rice pilaf with walnuts! yum!

    1. If you really never had them and want to experience unadulterated flavor, I'd vote for just sautéing with some butter, shallots, and maybe some thyme. Serve as a side on their own, or over pasta, rice (pilaf or 'normal'), chicken, or steak.
