Nice vegetarian in La Jolla?

Hey Hounds:

Heading to SD Fri/Sat/Sun -- I think we're square for lunch/bfast choices, and we may try George's or 3rd Corner for dinner, but I am still trying to find an upscale-ish vegetarian place near La Jolla. I say upscale, because I don't mean a health food store with takeout; we're really looking for something akin to Real Food Daily (LA) or similar.

Would appreciate some input if anyone has the time/inclination.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Has anyone been to the Hare Krishna restaurant near the university? I used to go to the one next to my school weekly up in Sonoma co. It was solid veg fare.

When I was at UCSD, there used to be a weekly Hare Krishna buffet served at the old student center. It was pretty good. Where's the restaurant? Opened by the same group?

Oh yes! It's not a restaurant, just a buffet set up on tables on a deck. The cream-of-wheat based dessert they do is out of this world when it's done with blueberries.

We were just in La Jolla this past weekend. I'm a vegetarian and I found many good choices at Piatti's & Roponggi (apps mostly, 1/2 price during happy hour).

Also, if Pacific Beach isn't too far, Isabel's Cantina on Felspar has a very veg-friendly menu.

Thanks, all. We're back and had a wonderful weekend. Breakfast was The Cottage and then Brockton Villa -- both excellent. Dinner at George's was really good, too. The find for us was at the Museum of Modern Art Cafe in La Jolla -- the food was so good; really fresh and prepared perfectly. Great salads (the tuna seared perfectly for a nicoise), and I found a new, favorite sandwich -- prosciutto w/ figs, manchego, greens, and a nice vinaigrette.

And we did hit Roponggi for appetizers; nice choice of vegetarian-type stuff.

Really fantastic weekend -- thanks again for the input!

Now that I think about it, didn't I hear something about a place over on Fay, near Jonathans that sounded something like this? That's all I can remember unfortunately, I'll poke around and see what I can find. I don't think the new Daily's is open yet, but I've heard it's coming.

Does anyone know if Daily's Restaurant is open at their new location yet? They had a lot of vegetarian items on the menu. http://www.dailysrestaurant.com/pdfs/...

I honestly don't think there is anything comparable to this in the LJ area, unfortunately. Cafe Zinc is vegetarian, but only open for bfast and lunch (in Solana Beach).
