Clawed by the Bear @ Primo's

Just back from my Saturday Primo's donut run, (E side of Sawtelle just a quarter block north of National in WLA). I was about to escape with just the normal amount of delightful donut damage when Mr. Primo came walking out of Donut Eden (the back room where those little circles of perfection are born) with a tray of fresh bear claws in his hands. Okay, stop trying to escape and buy a Bear Claw for the long (5 minutes - ha ha) drive home.
WOW. This thing savaged my taste buds with pleasure. Warm, a bit of crisp on the top with the rest of the dough a beautiful light as a cloud container for its smothering of toasted slivered almonds and a generous slathering of semi melted gooey white icing. Inside it was a symphony of perfect almond paste. It was an Oscar party in my mouth and I was the winner for consuming: Best Bear Claw - the movie.
Primo's - over 50 years of making Westside Angeleno's round.
Aaaaargh, why oh why did I not read this when Primo's was open?
Had no idea that Primo's had bear claws.
And now it won't be open until Monday. Oh the agony!
Oooh, that sounds so good. Maybe next time I'm at Primo's, I'll try to ignore my buttermilk bar addiction long enough to try a bear claw. Don't know if I can, though. Those things have quite the hold on me.
