What are some good Chinese restaurants with nice atmosphere and great food in the Baltimore/ White Marsh area?

    P.F. Chang's.

Yes, it's a chain restaurant, but I've never had a bad experience there.

Chopstix in Perry Hall (Honeygo Village Shopping Center) has a nice atmosphere and really good food. Also Szechuan House in Lutherville is great too. That may be too far for you though.

Unless they sold it, the people who own chopstix also own china wok. Both places are good. Great service.

MY RESPONSE: Oh yes, I have eaten there food many many times. In fact I would say that my family use to spend an average of $140 per month on their food. They started making lots of mistakes with our order - it's a shame because we liked their food- and when we spoke to the Manager he was rude to my Fiance and had the nerve to tell her he did not care if they messed up our order. I called him back and really layed into him verbally and I will never ever eat there, order food to be delivered or recomend China Wok to anybody - actually we tell people to say away from them. I post here all the time and it is rare that I speak negatively about restaurants, but I am happy to stop supporting them.

Thats exactly how I was treated at popeyes on belair rd next to frank's pizza. I refuse to give them my business anymore. I'm sorry about your experience at China Wok. I'm really disappointed in them now.

Thanks. I think it bothers me more then most people when people in a business are disrespectful towards their Customers because of the years that I worked in the restaurant business and in retail. In the back of my mind I always tried to act as though the Customer was right and they were the ones paying my salary.

The absolute best is Szechuan House in Lutherville. Prices are cheap, the food is fresh and the service can't be beat (hot towels, free sherbet to cleanse at the end of the meal). I live in NYC now and stop there everytime I am home. You will often find large groups of Asian families happily eating family style (a testament to the authenticity). Here's a review from the Citypaper:

I have been to Szechuan House and you are right on the money. Although I enjoyed the food, I really liked the atmosphere and was extremely impressed by how friendly and helpful the Staff were. The food is very reasonably priced too. There was a wait for a table when we went - it was a Saturday night but we were seated within 15 minutes.
