Best cornbread in Phoenix?

Who makes your favorite cornbread in Phoenix?

Either from a bakery, restaurant, deli, diner, etc.

I liked the gratis cornbread that Mrs. White's Golden Rule Cafe offers (it's free after all), but it's a bit too sweet which made it too "muffin-y".

Bobby Q's cornbread was pretty good -- nice and dense without being chewy but it lacked a distinctive corn flavor.

The cornbread at Lo-Lo's, however, was just despicable -- dry and grainy.

Your recs? And please, no Sweet Tomato's recs ...

I posted on azhotdish's thread a few months ago about Bandera. It's still my favorite. But I must admit to liking Sweet Tomatoes' cornbread too :o

When I was looking for cornbread around Thanksgiving, the overwhelming response from this board was for Bandera. I never ended up making it there, and prepared it myself, but I'm still interesting in trying it.

I was just about to mention Bandera. It contains whole kernels of corn and chiles, is dense and on the sweet side, and has a sweet crusty top. It comes to the table in an iron skillet, and is good enough for dessert.

Phoenix City Grill, SW corner of 16th and Bethany Home Rd., makes some excellent cornbread. Pair it with their black bean soup and a salad, and you have a full meal.

I recently had cornbread at Canal and it was awesome. Who knew?
