French Fry Request
We are trying to find the best fries in the city but, of course, there are some limitations:
1. Must be in San Francisco
2. Must be open for lunch
3. Typically most fond of the thin type of fries, not shoestring, but not steak fries.
My current favorite is Spruce... poached in duck fat, fried in rice bran oil. Crispy outside (even to the point that they can be warmed up the next day and still taste good!) and creamy inside.
Recently ate for the first time at Alfred's. Generally I was surprised and pleased, but one of the best surprises was the fries that came with my friend's excellent burger. Thin style, topped with equally perfect onion rings (a rare thing) so that the top layer of fries tasted like fried onion. I want some right now. (P.S. yonder nor sorghum stenches should you order dessert)
