We're headed to Sorensen's Resort in late March for a quiet get away. What interesting eats are there near there. I think that South Lake Tahoe is about a 20 minute drive and that's ok. We don't want to get too carried away with driving. Anything interesting en route there from Santa Cruz, say in Placerville or coming any more scenic route? Thanks.
I had a really nice lunch of quiche at sorensens itself, but I'm afraid I cant offer any more suggestions. South lake tahoe is quite a drive as its over a big pass.
The food at Sorensen's is pretty good, if I recall correctly, or there's the Kirkwood Inn just a few miles west on Highway 88 (burgers, ribs, etc), which is always popular with the skiing/hiking set. South Lake Tahoe is less than half an hour away from Sorensen's, if you're hankering for hustle and bustle, and unless it's really snowing, the drive isn't that big a deal. I mean, after all, you got to Sorensen's - over Carson Spur and Carson Pass - didn't you?
