Philly Foodies Need Restaurant Rec

Hi all - we'll be coming to NYC for dinner on Saturday, March 29th. Last few NY visits we hit Cafe Boulud, Artisinal and Babbo, and loved all three. I'm a vegetarian but I can usually make out fine, even if they have to make me something off menu (though Babbo was not very imaginative). We were considering Daniel or Balthazar, but I'd love to hear from you all. We're looking for special, but fun (not stuffy). Thanks!

  1. Hey Jenn,
Philly foodie here who just spent V-day weekend in NYC with my wife. I know that NYers will give you better advice than me but I just wanted to tell you that we had an incredible meal at Eleven Madison Park. Don't know if you've ever been there but it is beautiful, has perfect service, and the food from Daniel Humm is other worldly. It is art on a plate and delicious at the same time. It is not cheap by any standards (especially Philly standards), we did the 3 course dinner with accompanying wines at each course and, with tax and tip, spent about $340, but we feel it was worth every penney. We also ate at Bouley but were pretty let down by that experience. Check out their website and see if their menu is OK for you, I would highly recommend it!
