Hello All!

My boyfriend lives in Clinton (MD) and I have not noticed many restaurants that are not chains in the area. I've had Chinese from Eastern 88. Are there any chow-worthy restaurants in the Clinton area?

Thanks!

Mama Stella's at 7918 Old Branch Avenue in Clinton has good Italian food, especially the veal and the homemade pasta. Otherwise there isn't a whole lot I can recommend in Clinton other than Noah's Market (Formerly Nick's) just up the street at 7601 Old Branch Avenue. It's a small mostly deli/seafood/fresh meat market that has excellent sausage made locally here in Maryland by Ferrante Brothers.

I just tried Chicken Hut on the shopping center with the Safeway in the 8800 block of Branch Avenue. The restaurant is run by the same family that owns the Ledo Pizza next door. They do a Peruvian style rotisserie chicken as well as tandoori chicken, chciken curry, beef curry, pan fried whole tilapia. We had the half Tandoori Chicken dinner with rice and collard greens and Beer Curry with Okra. We had the peach cobbler for dessert. The whole bill came to under $20. The chicken was well seasoned as well as the collard greans. The greans were made with what appeared to be smoked turkey as this restaurant is Halaal (so no pork). The beef curry was tasty as well but not as spicy as I have come to expect curries. it was well seasoned however. The peach cobbler was a disappointment. It was waaaaay too sweet. I get the impression that this was a vehicle for day old cornbread rather than an end in itself.

I will be back
