New Honey Latte @ Starbucks - omg, so good!

Today I discovered the new honey latte at Starbucks. WOW! So good! Now, I love honey, and I think you really must love honey to like this, because it is pretty strong. But I put honey on anything that will stand still long enough, so this is totally my kind of thing.

there is also a honey frappucino. i had the option to either get it coffee or cream base. and cream base was pretty good. may have to try it coffee base next time.

I had two last weekend - one in Sacramento and one in Phoenix. Both were pretty good. The honey works with the flavors pretty well. I tried both a regular and soy honey latte, and both were good, although the cow milk version was a little better.

I forgot to add that they also had petite vanilla bean scones that were awesome with the honey latte. They have real vanilla bean specks throughout the glaze and the scone, and they weren't dry at all.

The Nordstrom Cafe (at Nordstrom department stores) has a honey almond latte. Pretty good. You get both the honey and almond flavor without OD'ing on either. I'm sure Bux has almond and you could order it there.

I think it would be the E Bar that has the latte, on the other hand you can still get a cup of regular joe for 25 cents.

Funny, the other post about ghetto lattes came to my mind when I read the headline for this post. I was thinking how easy it would be to make a ghetto honey latte, since they keep honey on the condiment counter. Don't worry, I will not do this as I am not a huge coffee drinker.

                From their website:
A blend of honey and a touch of warm spice flavors combined with espresso and freshly steamed milk. Topped with whipped cream and a drizzle of pure, golden honey.

They didn't list the actual ingredients in a place that was obvious to me. They do have a lot of nutritional info on the website now...which is new to me, at least.

Starbucks actually has posted their nutritional info on the website for quite a number of years. Of course you'd never know they did, considering no one cares that there is 500 calories in a venti caramel frappucino!

This new latte does sound good, and my standby is iced coffee. Will have to give it a shot.

Glad to hear the good review! Silly question: Is it just a latte with honey added, or is it a honey flavoured syrup?

that's exactly what I was wondering. Is this like a chai latte (milk with syrup added) or is it like a latte with honey (so that it tastes of coffee and honey)?

It's a latte with honey syrup (which includes ingredients other than honey, including--I believe--corn syrup) added.

                        Anywhere list those ingredients?

I would guess honey-flavored sugar syrup (natural or artificial flavoring) as the base, plus real honey on the top - based on their description.

That'd be my guess, too. I asked xanadude for an ingredient list because I wondered whether the corn syrup was a guess or a known thing on his/her part.

I have never seen HFCS as an ingredient in the Starbucks flavorings; they have all used pure sugar. Regular corn syrup would be bad in the syrup (too viscous and hydrophillic) - although it could be part of the honey. The website does say pure honey, so I will trust Starbucks unless proven otherwise.

I would have grabbed one this morning, but (ironically) Starbucks was not convienent today!

I'm willing to believe that the "honey syrup" or whatever it is that goes in the drink itself has many things in it. The topping, I'm sure, is "pure honey" as the website says. I am curious to see the makeup of the stuff in the drink.

HFCS is not in the ingredient list - it starts "water, sugar, honey, natural and artificial flavors, etc". I'm not so sure the final product tastes overwhelmingly like honey, but the topping is certainly pure honey.
