This new Black Squirrel sounds promising. There is a recent thread on the new restaurant.

I also like New Orleans Cafe, L'Enfant, and San Marco (which no one ever talks about but they make a great risotto).

Jyoti...it's actually pretty nice atmosphere inside and reasonably-priced. Pasta Mia if you don't mind waiting in the line. I agree with Elyssa about L'Enfant...definitely go on Tuesdays during happy hour for great deals on Belgian beer ($4 Delirium Tremens! All Belgian beers are half-price, and they have Orval, which I like but rarely see in Washington).

Has anyone tried that trendy Middle Eastern place underground? It's all red and shiny inside. The menu looks good. I'm blanking on the name right now...

Meze has pretty good food but service is very lacking
Rumba is really good and I like the atmosphere. Good drinks too
Prince Cafe for cheap eats
L'Enfant-love the atmosphere
Astor for yummy and cheap Med and Greek food
