I am having a large graduation dinner consisting mostly of grandparents who don't like it too loud (or too dark) and friends who love great food with a fun atmosphere. So far, someone has suggested Barefoot (I am not familiar...) and Crustacean. I would really appreciate more ideas...Price is not really a huge concern...for good food, if it is worth it. My family is very much into Italian, Asion Fusion, and eclectic styles. We have a few vegetarians in the group, but they aren't too picky. Thank you in advance for your help.

Yikes, I certainly would not call Crustacean quiet. I have had nice parties (in private rooms) in Napa Valley Grille for about that size and I think it would fit all of your stated needs. Happy graduation!

Toscana in Brentwood has a wonderful, quiet private room which can accommodate that number of people. It is kind of a wine cellar with brick walls and a very nice ambiance. I hosted a dinner there recently and everything was superb. I particularly liked the set-up. We pre-ordered appetizers to be served "family style." Pizzas were served immediately as guests arrived and were sipping their first glass of wine. After the appetizers, the guests ordered off the menu. I thought the price was quite reasonable, particularly given the amount of food we consumed. Everyone loved the food, service and ambiance.I would definitely call the maitre'd to discuss.
