I am sorry for have to post this but I work on 57th St and 10th Avenue and I am starving. We have barely a lunch option aside from Subway on 10th and 56th. We do go over to 57th and 9th to the Lunch Box but how many sandwiches can one eat? Does anyone live/ work around there that can offer some affordable options? When it is nice out we head to Whole Foods and eat outside. I have about 45 minutes so it can't be too far. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh, I guess I should say that we are all healthy eaters, 1 vegetarian. Thanks

Try Jake's Saloon on 57th and 10th. Good Pub food at reasonable prices.

Route 66 just reopened. Wondee Siam is awesome. Mee Noodle's good too. Azuri Cafe!

Good question, I live on 58th btw 9th and 10th and I haven't found that much (granted I haven't been living here that long). Burrito Box on 58th and 9th has pretty good burritos, and very good taco salads (if you're into that). In Time Warner Center is Bouchon Bakery, which could be good for a light lunch type of thing, they have yummy pastries and you can order from the takeout window part if you only have 45 minutes (FYI: Bouchon Bakery is owned by the person who owns Per Se). The pizza place (name eludes me) on the corner of 58th and 10th has really big sandwiches that seem reasonably priced, although the pizza seems really expensive and is mediocre at best. And of course there are a slew of diners, I like the one 59th (or 60th) and 10th much better than the others I have been to in the area.

Good luck, and make sure to report back if you find anything yourself (I am most curious)!

Ok we tried Azuri cafe on Friday, that was great! Amazing shahuka and I can't wait to try the falafel next week. A great hole in the wall with amazing food and the owner was a hoot.

Went to Strokos to check out the sandwiches too, might give it a try next week too. And definately Wondee Siam is a must try next week, so I will report back. It's pretty sad over there so this is a big help.

Oh we did try Nova on 54th and 10th, good food but the french guy and his crew are painfully slow. Good portabello wrap!

          • Flame (diner) W. 58 & 9th Ave.
          • 9th Ave. from 42 to 57 has many good ethnic holes in the walls
          • After work go to Osteria Gelsi 9th & 38th.

I live right nearby, and I heart Boston Market. Don't be scared of it if you've never tried it.
