Yikes! We made last-minute reservations (Saturday afternoon) for eight at Hacienda Argentina on the UES last weekend. They were the only place that could accommodate us.

I also remember a couple of months ago, we made last minute reservations (again, Saturday afternoon) for 15 people at Blue Water Grill.

I just made reservations for 13 for Saturday!! I made them on opentables, the best way to quicky do it and see all your options at once.

No need to do the big group places, just put the party size into the reservation field and then search date/times. There is not a lot, I promise. I am definitely settling for the one that I got for the 13 of us, but sera sera.

You don't indicate any particular preferences with regard to cuisines, ambiance, or neighborhood, so I'll just throw out a couple of suggestions.

Trattoria Trecolori can handle big groups. It's in the Theater District, so booking after 8 is the way to go.

Maybe Hill Country? They usually don't take reservations, but for a group of 14, they might. But even if they don't, you could still just show up....

you could do one of the Churrascaria Plataform (rodizio)...they can usually accommodate large groups. They have a location in midtown and one in Tribeca.

The meat is actually pretty good, but the bill gets up there if you're drinking a lot (prix fixe dinner is already $50+).

Fig and Olive in the Meatpacking District is my go to place for large parties. Call, go, enjoy.
