Stroopwafel in Philly

  • 3

In case you have never had a stroopwafel: It is a Dutch dessert that consists of two thin, crispy waffles with caramel in the middle. It is amazing...I have never seen it where I live in San Francisco (not fresh anyway) and I still dream of the warm one I ate in Amsterdam over a year ago.

I am moving to Philly soon and I was hoping that maybe, just maybe, it would be possible to get a fix there.

Any leads?

  1. My mother in law is from Holland and would rave about the ones there, but alas we've only ever been able to find the pre-packaged versions at Trader Joes around the holidays. :-(

    1. DiBruno's in center city also has a packaged version.

We've been much happier with the one Zabars in NY carries than Trader Joes. Cant remember the name tho. It was such a treat to go down the street in Gouda for fresh stroopwafel.
